Graviton

March 31, 2004.

There are some pretty decent Java games available for the high-end Nokia phones, but few people know that there is now also some software you can install that enables these phones to run programs written for a faster and more efficient game environment called mophun.

On the left is a Java applet that simulates a mophun game called "Graviton" running on a Nokia 7650. While not all that graphically impressive, the game requires a smoothness and precision that would have been almost impossible to achieve with Nokia's Java engine.

And what exactly is this "Graviton"? Well, I think you will recognize it when you start playing. The Space or Enter keys work as a fire button.
