Ms. MIDP-Man
September 3, 2004.
This is a clone of the classic game
Ms. Pac-Man, implemented for cell
phones using the MIDP 2.0 mobile Java standard. Since this is an unauthorized version, I
can't distribute it to people without violating a bunch of copyright laws. So you can't
download it.
Instead, the purpose of this section is to serve as a kind of mini-tutorial on how to
build mobile Java games. The Technical Stuff page explains
many of the techniques and algorithms I used. And the
Ingredients page has the complete source code, along
with the graphics data and sound files in case people are interested.
On the left is an emulation of a SonyEricsson K700i, which in my opinion is the
ideal platform for running the game. But it will work elsewhere too, at least after some
tweaking and tuning. Click on the "screen" to start a game session and use the cursor
keys to control the game character.
Disclaimer: Ms. Pac-Man is owned by Namco
and this site is not affiliated with them in any way.
